Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Geelong .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    This pic was taken during a Geelong Photography Group session aimed at capturing water droplets. It was taken on a Nikon D850 camera with a 300mm lens at 1/60 sec, f5.6, ISO 100. The view was set to 24x24 square format because I enjoy that format for flower images.The photo was taken at 9.33 am. For flower photos I like to climb right into the plant hence darkening the background in camera so that any post needed will only be fine tuning. This technique can be used at almost any time and lig

    This was my first attempt at astrophotography in Brisbane and was a trial shot more than anything. I went looking for an eastern facing foreground knowing that the Milky Way core would be rising at around 10pm from the east, leaving me few options where light pollution wouldn't be an issue. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too harsh at vic point. I loved the foreground and the lightning in the distance on the horizon, and the satellite creaping in was another unexpected surprise with th

    Dearing the eclipse of 2017 my family and I sat in our backyard here in WA to watch the 93 totality with our eclipse glasses. With my homemade solar filter attached to my camera, I took a series of photos of the sun during the eclipse. After processing my sun photos, I was disappointed to see that the moon only showed up as a black hole and not its proper form. I am an avid shooter of Astro photography and have several photos of the moon taken from my backyard and multiple other locations. I
